Chin Chin Chu
RESTAURANT, MUMBAI
As the name conveys, Chin Chin Chu was conceived as a vibrant and casual all day Asian cafe. We had also designed the restobar that was previously there, so we just had to revamp the space to suit the theme. We removed the existing glass and metal panels to create a vertical planter wall with metal holders for terracotta pots. The wooden bench and the birdcage chandeliers add an eclectic appeal to the waiting area.
The distinguishing design elements here include the colorful cabinet behind the couch and the black and white patterned floor. The couch seating area is brought alive by playful hanging lights and two chandeliers on the other side. We redid the bar counter by adding blue green handmade tiles to the apron and a clear glass bottle rack behind which is visible from the indoor and outdoor seating area.
